Job Brief
We are looking for a Cafe Manager to oversee and organize daily operations and work with our staff to provide excellent customer service. Some of the Cafe Manager responsibilities include scheduling, monitoring daily expenses and revenues and ordering supplies like coffee, milk, baked goods, wine and beer and snacks. To be successful in this role you should have work experience in coffee shops and the service industry.
This is a full time position, and full availability including weekends and holidays is required.
Ultimately, you will help boost customer and community engagement, oversee day to day operations, and help continue business growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
● Manage day-to-day operations of the cafe
● Hire and onboard new staff
● Train employees on drink preparation and proper use of coffee equipment and cafe operations.
● Coordinate with vendors and order supplies and products.
● Maintain a clean and safe working environment for staff and customers alike.
● Add new menu items and specials based on seasonality and customers’ preferences.
● Advise staff on ways to resolve issues with clients and ensure excellent customer service is always top priority.
● Ensure all cafe areas are clean and tidy.
● Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation.
● Work and help with special events including live music events and private parties.
Requirements
● 2 years work experience as a Shift Lead, Assistant Manager, or Cafe Manager with references.
● “Customer service first” attitude
● Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
● Proficient math skills and experience with spreadsheets and POS systems (Square and/or similar)
● Availability to work full time (including weekends and holidays)
● Great organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Knowledge and hands on experience with the craft coffee industry, roasting, and commercial brewing equipment.
● Knowledge of craft beer, cider, draft systems and wine styles
● Degree in Hospitality or Business is a plus, but not required
● Food Handlers and OLCC servers permit required
● Desire to interact with, and be a part of a the local community
● Ability to lift 50lbs, and spend long hours on your feet
